(Booth17A22, K2007 Messe Desseldorf) Bud Smith, President and CEO of BE (Brampton Engineering) announced today that Haremar Plastic Manufacturing Ltd. of Vaughan, Ontario, Canada has purchased a 5-layer conventional blown film line. “We are pleased to see another Canadian company taking blown film to a higher level. The film from this line will open significant new markets for Haremar.”
Mark Lichtblau, Vice President of Haremar says “we selected BE based upon their demonstrated ability to produce quality film lines at high output rates.”
During his search for a new film line, Lichtblau visited six BE installations in China and the United States. He found that Brampton Engineering’s customers believed that BE demonstrated exceptional commitment to ensure that their customers’ projects were successful. Lichtblau says, “With the SCD die we will be able to maximize the properties of the various types of resins we use, while isolating each layer for superior performance.” Lichtblau also explained that BE’s R&D capability, Film Technology Centre and engineering staff are a significant resource that will greatly compliment Haremar’s product development efforts.
Since 1965 Haremar has manufactured monolayer and three layer films for the courier bag, bakery overwrap, and can liners markets. This new line, their first five layer, will include a 5-layer SCD® with I-Flex® Heated Lip for gauge control, Eliminator Air Ring, AntiBlock IBC, and two single turret winders with BE’s automatic roll handling system. The ITALYCS®-4 control system will provide an operator friendly interface to enhance repeatability. Lichtblau says they will take full advantage of the systems ability to track, monitor and record processes. Operators will appreciate the graphical user interfaces of the system.
